94 Pitti Uomo Optical project cover portrait Fujifilm X-T2 green screen composite

For the 94th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, I was commissioned by the Pitti Immagine organization to shoot photos of the guests attending the fair and then create a graphic composition: they wanted the guests to stand out from the 94th edition’s graphic motif.

To achieve the task, I planned a small area where I set up my “to-go” studio with a green screen backdrop. My assistant Gianmarco was very helpful because we had some problems with the wind moving the green screen.

The editing process was as follows: from the raw RAF files from the Fujifilm X-T2, I converted them to DNG using Iridient X-Transformer, then edited the photos in Lightroom and did the green-screen cutout in Photoshop using tools such as color mask selection. I have to say that even if I used the green screen, I had to edit the photos with some manual masking to get a nice cut-out, especially in some areas around the hair.

So here’s the selection gallery from the 94th Pitti Immagine Uomo Optical project.
