Another great event

So — here we go again. Another edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, another few days of chasing beautiful light and beautifully dressed people through the streets and pavilions of Florence. This time it’s Pitti Uomo 107, and honestly, the energy was as good as ever. I always love the first days at the fair: you turn up at the Fortezza, and every direction you look, there’s someone worth photographing. Let’s kick things off with a few of the outfits and characters that caught my eye between the gates and the courtyard.

Shooting for Hockerty

It’s always a pleasure to be back with the Hockerty team. This is another season working with the Swiss made-to-measure brand, and this time we split the shoot between the historic streets of Florence and the pavilions inside the fair. The interesting bit — and by ‘interesting’ I mean ‘a little stressful’ — was fitting in a long list of influencers all dressed in Hockerty pieces, in a very tight window.
Here’s a look at how the day came together, from tailored coats caught in the winter light to details shot up close between one appointment and the next.

Photo session for Jason Sarai

As has been the tradition for many years now, I met up with Jason Sarai — the man behind Style by Sarai — for another round of images together at Pitti. Working with Jason feels less like a job and more like catching up with an old friend who happens to bring incredible outfits. We took our time wandering the streets of Florence, popped in and out of the fair, and stopped whenever the light or the backdrop asked us to. Same rhythm, same complicity, and a fresh set of looks to add to the story we’ve been building together over the years.

Photos in the streets of Florence for Neto, Pedro and Carlos

This one was a proper day out. Neto, Pedro and Carlos brought me along for a commissioned shoot in the streets of Florence and, honestly, we had a blast. Three seriously well-dressed guys, one photographer, and no real plan beyond ‘let’s just walk and see what happens.’ The city, as it always does, delivered — arches, alleys, sunlight bouncing off palazzo façades, and one very specific moment I have to mention: the little red Apecar. If you’ve never seen one, it’s a small three-wheeled Italian workhorse made by the same folks who build the Vespa — half scooter, half tiny truck, all charm. It landed in the frame like it had been cast, and it’s easily one of my favorite shots of the whole edition.

Photos for Fidelio

A little something new for this edition: I got a message from Fidelio Tailor, a Croatian-based menswear brand, asking if I’d shoot with them at Pitti. I said yes on the spot. Part of it was the work itself — great tailoring, thoughtful details, exactly the kind of quiet quality I love photographing — and part of it was the geography. I recently moved to Trieste, which is basically next door to Croatia, so working with a brand from just across the border feels like a small but very welcome coincidence. Here are the images we made together in Florence, with plenty of texture, natural light, and a soft nod that this collaboration will hopefully be the first of many.

More from the streets of Florence

To wrap things up, here’s a bit of a mixed bag — a few more shots from around Florence, some in the crisp afternoon light and some after dark, when the city takes on a completely different mood. And I can’t finish without a mention of Thursday night: the now-legendary evening on Via del Parione. If you’ve never been, picture a narrow Florentine street packed shoulder-to-shoulder with people chatting, laughing, holding glasses of wine, while the occasional car very politely tries to squeeze through the crowd. It’s chaotic, it’s warm, it’s completely Italian, and it’s easily one of the most fun evenings of the whole week. See you at the next Pitti — same street, hopefully same glass of wine in hand.
