The 100th edition of Pitti Uomo in Florence

This year, at the end of June, the hundredth edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence was held.

Definitely, the number is one of the important ones, but even more, the importance was given by the return of an in-person edition of the fair after blocking trade shows for over a year and a half due to Covid-19.

Obviously, the edition saw a decline in the number of attendees for both buyers and exhibitors, but I would say it was a strong signal to restart the trade fair sector in person.

It was so nice to see so many familiar faces, friends, and people I photographed over the years at Pitti Immagine Uomo again. I also made some new interesting meetings and took new photographic sessions for Nick Wooster, Hockerty and Simone Gismondi for Players Magazine.

About the photo session: technical notes

Technically, from the photographic point of view, I used the new camera bodies that I took in late May: the Fujifilm X-Pro 3 and the Fujifilm X-T4. Obviously, I immediately found myself having previously had the X-Pro 2 and the X-T3 (which I still keep as a second body for photos and backstage videos).

I added to the group of lenses in my possession the Fujinon 23mm f/1.4: this was one of the lenses I was left to buy for some time (it is equivalent to 35mm in the full-frame format) and considering how much I used the x100t in the previous photographic works for this particular focal length, I decided to add this lens to the X-Pro 3 to which I think it goes very well!

In one of the next posts, I’ll talk about the “no editing workflow that I did on these photos to give this “analog flavor” to the final shots.
