The Excelsior, Florence
A lifestyle story in the city
Through the Uffizi’s golden loggias, the Duomo’s dome, and a hidden bamboo garden behind Florence’s walls, this lifestyle story for Marriott Bonvoy follows two days at the Excelsior — coffee by the Arno, an artisan tailor at work, and quiet moments away from the usual tourist paths.
Over a two-day shoot, Alessandro Michelazzi Studio produced a series of lifestyle videos for the Excelsior hotel in Florence, part of the Marriott Bonvoy group. Rather than the city’s most photographed corners, the story moves through its hidden layers: a crumbling stone pavilion tucked behind bamboo in a private villa garden, the bronze Perseus of the Loggia dei Lanzi, and a quiet espresso ritual with a view of the Ponte Vecchio. We paired these unseen settings with the city’s living crafts, following a tailor cutting pinstripe wool by hand in his Florence atelier. Guests move between the Uffizi’s colonnades and the Duomo’s skyline, weaving the iconic and the overlooked into a single, unhurried lifestyle portrait of the city.
