This 91st edition of Pitti Uomo has been quite busy for me, and I’m very satisfied. On one side, I was asked to take some photos of friends attending the fair (soon their galleries will come on this blog); on the other side, I was developing the #InstaxPitti project that has been published on the official Pitti Immagine organization website and internationally on PetaPixel, Lomography, and Digifoto Pro Netherlands.
With this post, I want to show a gallery of backstage moments that I have lived during those days. I have the feeling that the more I come to Pitti Uomo, the more it feels like family. You meet old friends, you meet newcomers who are there for the first time and wish to come back for the next editions.
What always amazes me is the positive attitude of all the attendees: no one is jealous of anyone else’s look. Everyone instead shares their own unique taste in fashion. For many attendees, Pitti Uomo is (and this is why it was born) a B2B event. But in recent years, the event has grown to include all sides of fashion — the ones that actually define the world itself: everyday dresses.
There is always something interesting to see during Pitti Uomo’s week. For me, the most interesting part is meeting new people from around the world and having a chat with them. A lot of the time, I am talking to business owners who are taking their first steps in the difficult world of fashion, so I can totally understand the difficulties of their job.
And like usual, there are some interesting people around the fair. At this edition, I met the Italian actor Paolo Ruffini, photographed the Italian national team player Mr. Beppe Bergomi with my friend Defustel, and had a chat with the funny DJ Ringo and Di Pillo of Virgin Radio.
